October 29 CotC at The StartUp Blog at PartnerUp
The StartUp Blog at PartnerUp presents the October 29 edition of Carnival of the Capitalists.
Next week’s host is scheduled to be, well, announced. There will be many openings to fill, so of course volunteers will be welcome.
Are you a past CotC host? I’ve created a LinkedIn group for Carnival of the Capitalists hosts. If you have been a host, even if you no longer blog, and don’t want to miss it, feel free to e-mail me: jay at this domain. Otherwise you may get an invitation from me eventually, as I get back to working through the list.
Buy Deb’s stuff! It’s really cool, and has proven impressively popular as these things go. Plus it’s going to help finance Christmas, especially if I don’t get much work in the meantime. Our kids will appreciate it.
October 22 CotC at Blawg Review
Blawg Review presents the October 22 edition of Carnival of the Capitalists.
Since only a handful of entries were used, in addition to host picks, which are always welcome, I’m taking the opportunity to make this an edition of “You Decide.” At the end of this post, I’ve linked by title every non-spam entry, ordered by first unread to last unread submission, then first read to last read submission, including ones that also appeared in the actual CotC edition. There are some that are second entries from the same blog, which would normally have been excluded. Not sure what’s up with that, whether it’s not knowing the rules, forgetting, or hoping to be granted an exception by the current host. I haven’t read most of these; just compiled the links. This would be a good time to have used an intriguing title.
Next week’s host is scheduled to be a brand spanking new blog at PartnerUp, which is waiting to jump the DNS propagation hurdle as I type this. Normally we prefer a blog to be more established first, but these guys come highly recommended.
I have a couple possible hosts for subsequent weeks, but will be needing more.
I’ve created a LinkedIn group for Carnival of the Capitalists hosts and started inviting people who have hosted before, as best I can determine e-mail addresses. If you have been a host, even if you no longer blog, and don’t want to miss it, feel free to e-mail me: jay at this domain.
As I have mentioned before, Deb is selling some cool stuff in her Neatly Tangled Shop, so be sure to check it out. She does custom work, if you don’t see exactly what you want there. Her sales volume to date speaks for itself. The coasters have done especially well, but then they are fantastic, so duh.
Here are all the entries received that weren’t spam or banished for being spam/plagiarist types, but including multiple submissions from single blogs. Feel free to compare these and see what you would have included or not.

October 15 CotC at Dispatches from Blogblivion
Dispatches from Blogblivion presents the traditional October 15 anniversary edition part two of Carnival of the Capitalists.
It was this week in 2003 that I held the second edition. Who could have imagined it would still be going on after four years when so much has changed?
Next week’s host is scheduled to be Blawg Review, which has become traditional. Two weeks after that I have the first of many openings to fill, with the only edition I am reasonably sure of during the rest of the year being a week in December traditionally hosted by Rob Sama, so of course volunteers will be welcome.

October 8 Anniversary CotC at BusinessPundit
BusinessPundit presents the October 8 anniversary edition of Carnival of the Capitalists.
It was this week in 2003 that Rob held the first edition (wayback machine link; Creative Weblogging changes to the blog broke the old links). We never imagined we’d see the start of a fifth year now, or that we’d become the longest continuously running blog carnival, or that we’d inspire so many others in niches from logical to absurd to hopelessly overlapping, or that the concept of blog carnivals would go all to hell due to their proliferation and, ironically, a commercial enterprise riding on the work of people like us.
This is the last time the anniversary will be at BusinessPundit, and likely the last time Rob will host there, so that’s kind of a big change coming. Bigger than my having changed personal blogs a couple times since we began.
Next week’s host is scheduled to be me, in keeping with tradition, at Blogblivion, for part two of our annual anniversary celebration. I expect to have an online resume ready that I can promote during the bout of extra traffic, since getting a job would be a Good Thing. Not that my LinkedIn profile doesn’t amount to sort of a resume, but it’s not the same thing, and I need to change the emphasis.

October 1 CotC at City Unslicker
City Unslicker presents the October 1 edition of Carnival of the Capitalists.
Next week’s host is scheduled to be Business Pundit, naturally, for our annual anniversary celebration. CotC starts its fifth year next week, and is the longest running uninterrupted blog carnival.
