October 8 Anniversary CotC at BusinessPundit

BusinessPundit presents the October 8 anniversary edition of Carnival of the Capitalists.

It was this week in 2003 that Rob held the first edition (wayback machine link; Creative Weblogging changes to the blog broke the old links). We never imagined we’d see the start of a fifth year now, or that we’d become the longest continuously running blog carnival, or that we’d inspire so many others in niches from logical to absurd to hopelessly overlapping, or that the concept of blog carnivals would go all to hell due to their proliferation and, ironically, a commercial enterprise riding on the work of people like us.

This is the last time the anniversary will be at BusinessPundit, and likely the last time Rob will host there, so that’s kind of a big change coming. Bigger than my having changed personal blogs a couple times since we began.

Next week’s host is scheduled to be me, in keeping with tradition, at Blogblivion, for part two of our annual anniversary celebration. I expect to have an online resume ready that I can promote during the bout of extra traffic, since getting a job would be a Good Thing. Not that my LinkedIn profile doesn’t amount to sort of a resume, but it’s not the same thing, and I need to change the emphasis.

Are you a past CotC host? I’ve created a LinkedIn group for Carnival of the Capitalists hosts. If you have been a host, even if you no longer blog, and don’t want to miss it, feel free to e-mail me: jay at this domain. Otherwise you may get an invitation from me eventually, as I get back to working through the list.

Buy Deb’s stuff! It’s really cool, and has proven impressively popular as these things go.
